January Finish

Here is my ornie for this month. It is Woodland Snowfall by Little House Needleworks and it's from the 2004 issue of JCS Ornaments. I can't wait to get to the store to get some jute twine to make the little bag that it gives the directions to finish it as. Now to start thinking about what ornie I will stitch for February's SAL. This makes 2 ornies that I have gotten done so far this month.

LHN Pear Tree and some progress

Well, this is my April ornie, yep, I'm still making my way through the JCS 2006 ornie issue! I'm getting good value out it :) Love this design, there is a little error on the left of the chart as I think other people have mentioned but nothing serious. I used the recommended fabric and thread, apart from the pot which is GAST Cinnamon because I don't have WDW hazelnut. But just look at it compared to the photo! I'm quite disappointed in the rather overripe looking pears (CC Sassy Brass) which is very brown in places and in the border (CC Joshua Tree) which doesn't really show up at all. Oh well, I guess that's the randomness of variegated threads! I think I might rechristen it 'Little Nut Tree' instead!

I've also made some progress on Praiseworthy Stitches 'The Bird's Carol', I'm really enjoying this and hope to finish it soon, so I'll be one up and perhaps have a month of the SAL for finishing like Nicki suggested.

Have loved seeing all your ornies! Looking forward to next SAL weekend already :)

At last a finish!

Here is my first ornament. It started off being my January ornament but as I'm not a very fast stitcher it became my February one. I shall be finishing it off into an ornament at a later date. It's Pine Tree Hill by Little House Needleworks from JCS Ornament issue 2006. I substituted the red and green as I didn't have the right colours but the others are as called for, and I've stitched it on 36ct Edinburgh. Now I just have to decide which one I'm going to stitch next.

Finally I can show you a picture of my ornament. It was a big fun though I didn't finish it in time.... No need for the finishing right now so this will have to wait till autumn probably. ;-)

It was a big fun stitching this ornament and knowing you all are stitching ornaments at the same time....OK some of you stitched a few hours earlier and some a few hours later :-))) ....but I stitched for a longer time..LOL

Pine Tree Hill by Little House Needlewors
Just Cross Stitch Issue Ocotber 2006
Started 01-27-2007 and finished 02-01-2007
I used the asked for threads with one exception. Instead of Crescent Colors roasted chestnut I used WDW Chestnut .... and I love it :-)

This is Pear Tree by Diane Williams of Little House Needleworks. Pattern in JCS Orn magazine - 2006.

I stitched this with supplies in my stash (32-ct Confed Grey Linen; over dye & anchor fibers)
