Here's my ornie for August. I'm catching up soon I hope! :) This is the fourth time I did this cat. Lots of my friends like it. The dollar store had a bunch of frames in a bag for a dollar. yippee!
I 2 stitched ornaments for September. They were designed by a member of my local EGA. These ornaments will be donated to the local library for their tree. I still need to add some twisted cord or other trim and a hanger.
Here is my september chritsmas ornament - The Pine Cone. I'd like to propose a new form of christmas decoration. You can get chart and instructions for stitching in my freebies blog. I'll be happy if anyone find it usefull. Have a nice weekend! Designed and stitched byAlexandrina
I just finished this Glory Bee ornament from the new JCS ornament issue... this is actually my second finish from the mag if you count my design, but that was done ages ago LOL I got my magazine the other day and have made my annual list of ones I'd like to stitch but almost never do :)
Stitched on 14ct aida, using pink DMC and Metallic gold. Mounted onto glittery pink felt and a pink braiding made, attached on with pink marble ceramic beads. Design is by Lesley Teare
Stone & Threads' Snowflake Mitten stitched by Lynn
My September ornament is finally done and I've finished it as a pillow which is a first for me. I'm slowly trying out my wings on different finishes. Hand sewing and finishing are not my forte! It was so easy though that now I'm getting brave.
Anyways I'm pleased with how it turned out. It's called Snowflake Mitten from the designer Stone & Thread. I love their primitive patterns. I've stitched mine on a 28ct Silkweaver Solo linen using Weeks overdyed floss.
So I am really behind with this SAL. Here's a church for April and a dog (pet) for August. The charts for the churches (I did a different one on the other side) are in Sajou 103 on Swappons. I have to track down where the dog chart came from. It was in another old French booklet and I have a few sources for those.
Last weekend I declared Finishing Weekend.... it was that or be drowned in a sea of stitched but not completed ornies. I managed to get through 21 ornies in 2 days -- mind you, ALL I did was finish ornies and watch TV. no, I am NOT the most inventive finisher in the world, but at least they are done and ready for the holidays.... that's quite a miracle in my life.
The angel card is a free pattern on the web from 'Ant of Sweden' stitched on 25 count Evenweave with DMC threads. I'm not quite sure yet as to how I will finish the shepherd & sheep. This design is from the Gift of Stitching Magazine ( December 2007 issue) by Deanne Carter of Carousel Charts. Stitched on 28 count beige Jobelan with DMC threads.
I stitched these small ornaments during the last months. And now they are finally finished. :-) The designs come from "The Prairie Schooler" ("Christmas Miniatures"). Hope you'll enjoy them!
The first ornament is for a trade, my partner, Anna, wanted a blue ornament so I stitched this one, and the baby penquin will make a cute ornament too! Lori
I finally got 4 Christmas ornaments stitched. They come from the leaflet called '50 Snowmen' by Linda Gillum. I now have all the grand kids ornaments stitched and just need to find a day to finish them for their trees. I am thinking of doing them like a pin keep...without the pins. Have a great day stitching laurel
I took part in a handmade ornament exchange where the main colour had to be pink. I chose this one, a freebie from Miriam and stitched it in two different pinks. I then added a little homemade cording, using both colours and attached it to the bauble itself.
Mounted it onto glittery pink felt, made some more cording and attached it with two marbled ceramic pink beads.
I joined this blog in the hopes that it would boost me along in my ornament efforts, and it has! I know it's already September, but this is only the second ornament I've stitched this year... so much for those plans of 2 each month LOL
From Bent Creek, "Oh Deer!"... stitched on green (bright green!) because that's what my daughter asked for.
...yes, it seems to be like that, I cannot live without The Prairie Schooler in this SAL. I am going on stitching TPS in August, choosing the Old World Santas, here is the first:
