Tiny Santa stockings

These tiny stockings are real little stockings, and are stitched on 24 count linen over 2.  They measure 2.5 cm (1") wide at the cuff, and 6cm (2.5") long.  I adapted the design from Kooler Design Studios Littlest Stocking #7 (in LA's Christmas Ornaments #3428, 2003).

June ornament

The Santa design is from The Faces of Santa Afghan chart in LA's Christmas Keepsakes hardcover book (1990), the second book in the Christmas Remembered series. Although the designer is not directly credited, I believe it to be Carol Emmer.

My December ornaments

I (pretty heavily) adapted the little angel from Pat Water's A Christmas Collection leaflet (1986), and added the border.  It's stitched on a scrap of white linen.
There's no designer to credit for these - they just grew as I stitched.   They're stitched on scraps of the same grey linen (it's amazing how the floss and bead colours make it look as though they were stitched on different shades of linen).

The design is adapted from LA's Christmas Caboodle leaflet (1986).

My August ornaments

The Santa stocking design is adapted from LA's Christmas Ornaments book #3428 produced by Kooler Design Studios. It's design 7 from the Littlest Stockings series, charted to be stitched on plastic canvas. I stitched it on 18 count Aida, made a few little changes to the shape, added a cuff, and backed it to turn it into a real little stocking. The finished stockings are just over an inch wide at the top, and a bit under 2 inches long.

My latest finish

Stitched on white 25 count linen. The bear design is a freebie from DMC, and I added my own borders.

My June ornament

I just managed to get this one finished in June. It's on 25 count white linen, and it's an original design.

January Ornaments

The angel design is adapted from Pat Waters Country Crafts angel design in Christmas Minatures II (1979), and I added my own border. The wreath design is adapted from JBW's Noel Ornament in The Ornament Collection leaflet (1991).

October ornaments

Both these designs are favourites, which I have stitched many times. Both are stitched with 1 strand on 22 count white hardanger. The candycane is adapted from Designs With Scissors' Calendar chart in the Feb 1989 issue of Leisure Arts. The stocking is adapted from LA's Christmas Caboodle leaflet.

Another September ornament

I stitched this ornament to make use of the second jewelled key I purchased from a discount variety shop last month. There's no designer to credit for this design - it just grew as I stitched.

My inspiration for this ornament was the little jewelled key I found on my travels.

Three Christmas Ornaments

These are my first three completed ornaments for 2010. They are all stitched on 18 count Aida with DMC floss and Mill Hill beads plus some other non-branded beads. The larger ornament is adapted from a Barbara Mock design, from the 1992 Dimensions leaflet Christmas Quickies II. The candy cane ornaments are adapted from a Calendar design by Regina J Walters for Designs with Scissors in the February 1989 issue of Lesure Arts.

The stocking is adapted from LA's Christmas Caboodle leaflet from 1986, and I repkaced the doll with a bear adapted from Graphworks Mini Motifs for Christmas leaflet from 1987.
