New Here

Thank you so much, Jennifer, for allowing me to join. I'm Sally, I'm a SAHM to 2 teenage girls and I live in a small seaside town on the east coast of England. I have joined to stitch at least one Christmas ornament each month starting in 2009. I had planned to do that this year but it just didn't happen so thought joining here would give me the incentive to do it next year:)

I have stitched a few ornaments recently so here's the ones I can show so far.

catching up?

I have been stitching ornaments, and even finishing them, but then I hide them away till it's time to send them to their new owners. So, I keep forgetting to include them here. Oops.

The Lost Ornaments or how I spent my SAL weekend (Adana)

Amazing what you can find if you dig deep enough.

This Mary Garry Christmas Heart Pincushion (2000 JCS orn) was stitched in 2003 and I was all ready to finish it when it was lost. Yesterday it was found. (stitched with DMC floss)

Come Let Us Adore Him (Lizzie*Kate) was finished in the final days of 2002. It was unfinished when I went to San Diego in November, but I came home with a broken elbow. Finishing the stitching on this piece after 8 weeks off work and not stitching became my therapy. Before work this morning I pinned this piece and will lace and frame it tonight. (Stitched with overdyed floss)

Lelia's Ornament

Swedish Christmas Star, Hearts, & Reindeer
c.1998 Mary Garry's Sewing Cabin from the Just CrossStitch Ornament Magazine. I used DMC floss on 32-count Antique White linen. This is a favorite stitch of mine. In the past, I've given my ornaments away to family & friends.

I got busy with this ornament a couple days early b/c our daughter was arranging a ride home [from college] this week-end. I look forward to her brief time at home. And on Monday, I'll check back here & hope to see more ornaments!
