Finishing festival

Last weekend I declared Finishing Weekend.... it was that or be drowned in a sea of stitched but not completed ornies. I managed to get through 21 ornies in 2 days -- mind you, ALL I did was finish ornies and watch TV.

no, I am NOT the most inventive finisher in the world, but at least they are done and ready for the holidays.... that's quite a miracle in my life.

Finishing festival

Instead of stitching ornies this weekend I finished like a fiend. And I have all sorts of holes in my finger to show how often I forgot I was using a sewing needle rather than an xs needle. Silly me!
I know this looks like a lot, but it's my standard format -- stitch all year then spend many late nights at the end finishing like a fool.

These are what got finished this weekend:
ornies finished Oct 27 and 28 2007

And over the last couple weeks I've gotten the stitching and/or finishing done on these:
pendibule 3
my first pendibule 10/3/2007
humbugs 10/11/2007
new ornies as of 10/8/07
I'm especially proud of the over-1 spool:

Finishing Marathon

I forced myself to make this Christmas ornie weekend a finishing weekend. And, as usual, I was somewhat thwarted -- I couldn't find my stuffing for anything! Finally with fresh stuffing in hand I was able to get these together Sunday night:

ornie completions as of 9/30/2007

Thanks for all the inspiration everyone!

This is my latest ornaments. They are crafting projects from Tilda's "Crafting Christmas Gifts" book.
I have quilted a simple heart, the fabric is a Red Rooster Gentle Christmas Green Garland/Red Dot Stripe on Beige.

And these are six gingerbreads, with various decorations. The buttons are from Shelley's Buttons.

Our finishing weekend!

Just a reminder that this weekend is our first finishing weekend! Dig out those pieces of stitching and turn them into ornaments!

We will be finishing along with the Focus on Finishing blog. Please pop over and have a look - there are some great tips on there for finishing ideas.

As an added incentive, there will be a draw with a prize! Everyone who finishes an ornament that weekend and posts it to the Finishing blog (not here) will be entered into a draw for some Christmas finishing supplies.

I hope you'll all have fun!
