A Few Ornaments

A few ornaments I have finished:)

Prairie Schooler Christmas Tree from the JCS ornament issue 2002. I stitched it over one for my friend Julie.

Carriage House Samplings Merry Christmas for a private ornament exchange with my friend Chris.

Mary Garry's Sewing Cabin from the JCS ornament issue 2000, blogoversary gifts for Christine and Juls. I used red velvet ribbon on one and green velvet ribbon on the other.

Can't wait to get started on more for next year!

Shepherds Watched.

Here is Shepherds watched by Shepherds Bush, my ornie for this months Stitch-along. The design appeared in the 2002 issue of Just Cross Stitch Christmas Ornaments. I haven't stitched any SB designs for a while so it has been nice to spend some time working on this piece. Stitched with the called for fibres on an anonymous piece of 32 count.

My April ornament

This is my first christmas ornament ever and I made it as a present for a stitching friend. Some of you may recognize it from 2002 JCS Christmas ornie magazine. It is the Christmas Rose by Elizabeth's Designs. I changed the colours and didn´t do all of the stitches.

Anne's April ornies (a bit late)

I made up for missing March too by having an entire day yesterday devoted to ornie stitching. Here are the results:

Cardinal-Snowflake
Cardinal Snowflake by The Victoria Sampler
from 2004 JCS Christmas ornie magazine
Stitched on 28ct Kiwi Illusions Jubilee in Alpine Spring (Countrystitch)
using substitute threads from my stash

Merry-Christmas-by-Glory-Be
Merry Christmas by Glory Bee
from 2003 JCS Christmas ornie magazine
Stitched on 28ct 'mystery' evenweave
using recommended threads except for using Crescent Colours Toasted Marshmallow instead of GAST Porcelain

Christmas Rose by Elizabeth's Designs

from 2002 JCS Christmas ornie magazine
Stitched on the same 28ct 'mystery' evenweave
using all the recommended threads

Santa Star

Well, this one seemed to take forever to do, and I haven't done the finishing, but here's my ornament for the SAL. Cute isn't he?!

It's Santa Star by Lavender Wings from the 2002 JCS ornament issue. I didn't do all the backstitching as I didn't think it added anything (and I hate backstitching!) and I left off the stars as I want to make it into a star-shaped ornament. It's stitched on a bit of Silkweaver linen from a treat bag - I think it's 28ct.
