Woodland Joy and Peace Needleroll

I didn't stitch an ornament this week-end, but I finished two off.
First the ornament I stitched last month: Woodland Joy by Something in Common, finished as a pinkeep.

And an ornament I had already stitched last year: Peace Needleroll by Jeannette Douglas from the JCS Ornament Issue 2004:

Love the finishings especially the first piece. I tried
to twist the ribbons like yours before but it did not work. Is there any special trick to it?

Both are gorgeous Svenja - I love the ribbon edging around Woodland Joy, it's perfect!

I love the stitched edge you have around the first piece - it's so unusual. Is there a tutorial anywhere?

That double ribbon around the first ornie is lovely, so clever. And I love the blues in the needleroll.

I love the owl, but they're both beautiful ornaments.
